The Hawaiian Limu Turf Scrubber Solution
We are developing the Maui Sustainable Reuse Pilot (MSRP) to demonstrate cost-effective ecologically engineered recycling of nutrient pollution from R-1 water into agriculture by growing native Hawaiian freshwater stream macroalgae limu in a human made stream bed system called an algal turf scrubber.
Ma‘alaea Regional Wastewater Reclamation System
Reef Power has provided significant leadership in the progress toward realizing a Ma‘alaea Regional Wastewater Reclamation System through providing Administrative Project Management duties for the Ma‘alaea Village Association Wastewater Working Group for many years, and as founding Executive Director of a new mutual benefit nonprofit organization created to build & operate MRWRS, Ma’alaea Wastewater Association.
